PhD Seminar, November 6-7, 2025
A seminar for PhD students in criminology from the Nordic countries will be organised this year in Tampere, Finland, in November 2025.
The PhD seminar will be held from Thursday afternoon to Friday afternoon. The seminar will take place at the City Centre campus of Tampere University. The specific location within the campus will be informed closer to the event.
Since most of the participants will be travelling through Helsinki, a collective bus ride is arranged from the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport to Tampere University. The bus ride will also be arranged on Friday from Tampere University back to the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport.
Participating PhD students are expected to give a short presentation of their dissertation project during the seminar. Additionally, the seminar will provide participants with opportunities to network and socialise with other PhD students in criminology from the Nordic countries. Possible themes for the seminar, as well as other activities (e.g. workshops), will be decided once the application date has passed and you will be informed of further instructions later.
The Nordic Research Council for Criminology covers travel and lodging expenses for participants.
